How to Live in Denmark: A Humorous Guide for Foreigners and Their Danish Friends Customer Reviews
:- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Susan Baroncini-Moe -- A fun read after a trip to Copenhagen. : I bought this book after finding it in a bookstore in Copenhagen and preferring to have it in digital form. While any book like this has to be based on stereotypes, I found it a fascinating read after spending a week in Denmark and getting to know the culture a bit. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from antithesis -- Very well written and funny book about life in Denmark : I have lived in Denmark for many years and do not exactly need introduction on how to live in it. I bought the book because I worked with Kay and later discovered her blog and loved its humorous style. ( Reviewed in the United States on July 18, 2016 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from lisa stevens -- Spot on insights into the Danish mind! : for first time visitors, or students, or anyone planning to stay awhile. ( Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2015 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from HarryKat -- An excellent read! : I really enjoyed Kay's descriptions of the idiosyncrasies of the Danish people. She also had excellent tips on how to integrate yourself into Danish society (as much as an American can). I loved the book so much I couldn't put it down. - 2.0 out of 5 stars from Amazon Customer -- The book was fun to read : The book was fun to read. But now that I am here in Denmark for almost a year, I tend to think that Denmark is different from other places in the world in many ways. Danes are also very different. They have a unique culture, in positive and not-so-positive ways. I don't think that the book covered a lot of this. ( Reviewed in the United States on November 22, 2017 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from REB -- great reading! : I have lived in several places over the past 40 years. From Alaska to Venezuela ( once possible for an American!) each place has its unique idiosyncrasies that once you learn them you can thrive or at least not make a fool of yourself. Mellish hits all the right points so that after reading this book you feel like you've "been there". Each "chapter" was captivating and enjoyable to read. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from G Michael Kaas, author of Quality Time -- Great entertaining read. : Having family in Denmark, this book gave me great insights into the daily lives of the Danes. ( Reviewed in the United States on March 8, 2016 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Andrew D. Selee -- Hilarious and insightful : Lots of fun and a quick read but with lots of insight into Danish culture and worldview. As a half-Dane who has always lived in the US but visits Denmark often, it was fascinating and enjoyable. ( Reviewed in the United States on August 30, 2016 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from TjRjn -- Just the antidote. : As a relatively new arriver to Denmark this book presented itself to me just at the right time. ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on January 27, 2015 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Jerad Zimmermann -- You WILL like this. : Kay is an insightful and charmingly funny observer of Denmark, it's people and it's customs. Her prose is so clever and seemingly effortless you'll be encouraged to start your own blog!! ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 3, 2014 )
- 4.0 out of 5 stars from lea -- A good book, but keep on the learning process : I bought this book knowing that I was going to move to Denmark in a few months. It is a wonderful guide to start understanding Danish culture. ( Reviewed in Brazil on October 1, 2015 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Amazon Customer -- Wie ticken die Dänen : Sehr unterhaltsam geschriebener Vergleich der dänischen Kultur, des Lebensstils und der Eigenheiten in diesem Land aus der Sicht einer dort seit Jahren lebenden Amerikanerin. ( Reviewed in Germany on September 7, 2014 )
- 1.0 out of 5 stars from Missen -- Disappointing : Sadly this is really disappointing and full of generalisations that aren't accurate. You're better off reading a year of living Danishly. ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on July 5, 2015 )
